Wondering what info we collect and why?

Here’s the answers to all those privacy questions you never knew you had!   If you have any more queries, send an email to

Be forewarned; I am just one mama clicking away on her laptop at home. I know lots about homeschooling, and a fair bit about writing, but very little about the intricacies of how the internet works. The info I collect on this site happens automatically because of the tools I use (namely, Mailerlite, Google Analytics and various plugins, all of which claim to be GDPR compliant themselves).

I don’t use these tools to collect and sell your data or to use it for any other nefarious purpose. I wouldn’t know how even if I wanted to. Instead, I use the information to understand how you use this website so that I can continue to provide you with the info that you find interesting and helpful, to interact with you via comments, and to communicate with you via my email list.

This privacy policy aims to clearly communicate with you:

  1. What personally identifiable information This Whole Home collects from you through the Sites, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.

Here we go!

Email Marketing

To keep up with the information and services I provide at This Whole Home, I offer the opportunity for you to sign up for my email newsletter. Should you choose to subscribe, this will require you to provide personally identifiable information, specifically your first name and email address.

This information is stored securely using MailerLite who are themselves GDPR compliant. When I send you an email, MailerLite automatically adds tracking things to links so if you click on a link I can see that. If you open an email I can see that too. MailerLite may also allow me to see which country you have signed up from, and also what type of device you open emails with.

I aim to send emails weekly but I confess, I’m not always great at that. Sometimes it may be a few weeks before you hear from me. On other occasions I might send you an extra email because I just can’t wait to share something with you. This is pretty rare and I won’t send you more than 3 emails a week, max.

This does vary when you initially sign up. Depending on which opt-in offer you sign up to you may receive more or fewer emails initially while I provide you with the support I think will be helpful in using your free download.

You can unsubscribe to our emails at any time by using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the emails or by sending an email to

You also have the right to ask to be forgotten (in the official GDPR legalese sense). You can do this by sending and email to

How long we retain your data

Data collected when you sign up to our newsletter service is also kept indefinitely unless you ask to be forgotten.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Simply send an email to clearly stating your requirements and this will be done within 30 days. This time period allows me to time to see your email and to seek technical assistance if necessary to carry out your request. Remember, I’m just one mama at home trying to offer you a service for free.
